Privacy Policy for Where To?
Decafsoft built the Where To? app as a travel planning and place record app. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you use it.
By using Where To?, you agree to the handling of information described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect and Use
Location Information
Where To? may request access to your device location. Location access is used only to provide app features such as showing your current location on a map, finding nearby places, calculating distance, and helping you save places you want to visit or have visited.
The app does not send your location information to a Decafsoft-owned server. However, map and location-related features may be processed by third-party services such as Google Maps or Google Play services in order to display maps, search places, and provide location-based functionality.
Saved Places, Notes, and Visit Records
The app may allow you to save places, notes, visited status, dates, and related travel planning information. This information is stored locally on your device unless you choose to share, export, or back up the information using device or app features.
Decafsoft does not operate a separate account system or cloud database for these saved records.
Device, App, and Advertising Data
Where To? may use Google AdMob to display advertisements. Google AdMob and related Google services may collect or process information such as device information, advertising identifiers, approximate location, app activity, diagnostics, and interaction data for purposes including ad delivery, fraud prevention, analytics, and service improvement.
Depending on your region, the app may ask for consent related to personalized ads where required.
2. How We Use Information
The information handled by the app is used to:
- Display maps and location-based information;
- Help you save and manage places you want to visit or have visited;
- Show nearby places and distance-based information;
- Maintain app functionality and user preferences;
- Display advertisements, where applicable;
- Improve app stability and prevent abuse or fraud through third-party services.
3. Data Sharing
Decafsoft does not sell your personal information. Decafsoft does not share your saved places, notes, or visit records with a Decafsoft-owned server.
Information may be processed by third-party services used by the app, including Google services, as necessary to provide maps, location features, ads, and related app functionality.
The app may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of users, Decafsoft, or others.
4. Third-Party Services
The app may use third-party services that have their own privacy policies. Please review the privacy policies of these services for more information:
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Saved places, notes, visited status, and related records are stored on your device until you delete them, reset the app data, or uninstall the app.
Because Decafsoft does not operate a separate user account or cloud database for Where To?, Decafsoft cannot directly access or delete records stored only on your device. You can delete local data using the app's delete/reset features or your device's app settings.
6. Your Choices and Controls
- You can grant or deny location permission when requested by the app.
- You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
- You can delete saved records in the app, if the app provides deletion features.
- You can clear app data or uninstall the app to remove locally stored data from your device.
- You can manage ad personalization through your device settings and Google settings, where available.
7. Security
Decafsoft uses reasonable measures to protect information handled by the app. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting access to their own device and backups.
8. Children's Privacy
Where To? is not directed to children under the age of 13. Decafsoft does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so that appropriate action can be taken.
9. International Processing
Third-party services used by the app, such as Google services, may process information on servers located in different countries. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Decafsoft may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
